It would take unprecedented dryness to change that. Seattle water supply is done for this year. Anyone who watched that joke (it's a wet-drought!) unfold knows exactly what Cliff is talking about, and kudos to him for being one of the only sane voices on the subject. We heard it this fall (while the Cascades were drenched), just like last fall, and the fall before that etc. Water managers have used increasingly accurate technology to manage the resource - 14/15 is a great example of that.Īnd yet every year it is the same. Since the 70's snowpack has increased in the Cascades. Over the last 30 years precip has increased here.
